Coming Soon: “Stand Up to Hate” – A National Push to Stop Hate Crimes Across America

Project Stand Up began with a simple yet powerful idea: give communities the tools to speak up—safely, anonymously, and without fear. What started as a tipline to combat drug activity has since grown into a statewide school safety resource and, now, a national call to action against one of the most urgent threats to our shared security: hate.

As hate crimes rise across the country, the need for a community-centered, technology-backed prevention strategy has never been greater. That’s why we’re launching Stand Up to Hate—a national movement built on the same proven framework that made Project Stand Up a success. But this time, we’re going even further.

Phase 1: Launching the Anthem – “How Could You Hate”

At the heart of this new campaign is a song.

How Could You Hate isn’t just a musical release—it’s a statement. A reflection. A challenge to every listener to confront the roots of hate and recommit to empathy, action, and accountability. Written in partnership with artists and advocates who’ve seen the consequences of silence, the song gives voice to victims, communities, and the millions of people who refuse to stand by when hate shows its face.

The lyrics ask a question that sits at the center of our effort:
How could you hate someone you’ve never even met?
How could you see pain—and choose to look away?

By launching with this emotional anthem, we aim to not only raise awareness—but to spark dialogue, healing, and movement.

What Comes Next: Empowerment in Every Zip Code

The Stand Up to Hate campaign will expand access to:

  • Anonymous text-based tip tools for reporting hate crimes and bias incidents

  • Customized resources for schools, synagogues, community centers, and city governments

  • In-language outreach and media kits for underrepresented groups

  • Local law enforcement coordination, using our tested alert-routing platform

From large metro areas to rural towns, the campaign adapts to the unique safety challenges of each community. And just like our prior programs, participation will remain free or low-cost to ensure wide adoption.

Why This Matters

Hate doesn’t just target individuals—it threatens the emotional and physical safety of entire communities. When people fear going to school, attending worship, or walking down their own street, the damage runs deep. But when communities are empowered to report early signs of danger—when tools are simple, trusted, and accessible—prevention becomes possible.

Stand Up to Hate is about giving everyone a way to act before tragedy strikes.
